The backdrop is a mountain and the changing light gave it a new dimension every time we looked at it. In front you have the tea gardens, so you feel you are truly in munnar. Resort itself is fairly spread across. The walk to and back from the room to reception used to be truly invigorating (not recommended for those with aching joints..they can use the shuttle that runs continuosly :) ). Food has variety. You get to taste a good variety of local preparation in their buffets in additional to the regular buffet fare. Spa experience was also good. I opted for a kerala ayurvedic massage and came back feeling fresh and charged. All in all a good place to spend with family and friends. More » « Hide

One thing that hits you immediately is the greenery. And fresh dewy clean greenery. It usually..... One thing that hits you immediately is the greenery. And fresh dewy clean greenery. It usually rains in the night and you are greeted with freshness as you wake up. We were there for three days and the climate ranged from hot, warm to cold in the night. Hotel is located on Jalan Besar Road, @ 7 mins walk from Mustafa/Little India eating joints.... .. Hotel is located on Jalan Besar Road, @ 7 mins walk from Mustafa/Little India eating joints. Rooms were small but clean. We were on the second floor facing the road and we had a good view. The hotel staff was extremely helpful. Two bottles of water(Rarity in most hotels in Singapore) was provided every day. Breakfast was complimentary and had food palatable to the indian taste. Room had a fridge and Kettle. Tea and coffee supplies available and extra supplies were made available immediately. Most travel websites rate this place not so well, but for Indians travelling to Singapore this is a good option. The rooms are on par with a four star here. Due to flight issues we had to extend our stay and the hotel was extremely accomodating and did the needful without any issues. More » « Hide

The hotel provides a drop service and will pick you up if you call back. The rooms are clean and tidy. Bathrooms are clean too. We just had a little trouble with hot water..which would never come from the taps..all we got ever was a half bucket of luke warm water !! We craved for some authentic kerala cuisine and all we got was alu mutter on the menu card..there is one malabar curry which u can have with white rice..to give u a feel of the taste of kerala cuisine. Breakfast buffet is regular idli-dosa-vada-bread-cornflake fare..and i did get puttu/kadla one day in buffet in response to a request placed previous night ..so the service I have to agree is excellent. If you want to eat any of the regular sadhya meals in guruvayur..please venture out..there are umpteen places which will serve amazing food at less than half the cost ! More » « Hide

Once we arrive in the resort, its like coming back into nature..we arrived on a rainy... .. Once we arrive in the resort, its like coming back into nature..we arrived on a rainy evening...the mist was floating into the Verandah. We were quickly settled down by the staff. It was tea time, so there was hot masala chai with some yummy pakoras on the table in no time. The children were happy to run around in the verandah and we adults were happy to relax in the plantation chairs and sip tea. The resort is a heritage place. The cielings are high, the bathrooms can fit your entire modern apartments. The rooms are extremely spacious. It felt like we had entered a bygone era. Its a perfect place to go and spend some quality time with your folks. However if you are looking for modern amenties like a pool or an AC in your room then its not the place. The food options are limited but yummy. They actually have sit down candle lit dinners. Its an experience to be had. Matheran itself gets wet and beautiful in the rains and this place by sheer location and ambience gets the best in terms of view. More » « Hide
