accessibility with train is the best. the station to look for during reservations is Mookambika..... accessibility with train is the best. the station to look for during reservations is Mookambika Road Byndoor (BYNR). the daily trains are limited and Netravati from and to mumbai arrives at very odd timing of 0200am. Taxi from/to station is fixed rate of 400/450 respectively. drive up is good and scenic. there are numerous hotels . we stayed at Lalitambika lodge which is run by temple administration. It is large and caters for many people. (110 rooms). The rooms per say are average and the best of the lot are AC rooms with Rs600 charge. Govt officials can avail the services of the nearby Govt guest house. More » « Hide

we booked through tele.. the rooms were readily available. although we had to look at 3 rooms and... .. we booked through tele.. the rooms were readily available. although we had to look at 3 rooms and finally settled for the ac room .. not for the AC but for the western toilet and basic cleanliness. the bed sheets were fresh but then that was all. AC rooms were Rs600/- per room. there were no limits on the no of people and check in check out timings. we were 4 of us and used the room just to freshen up and also checked in at 0330am and checked out at 0100am. it is 500mts from the temple and 300m thru a short cut. ample parking space is available. taxi/omni van from railway station to /from is Rs400/Rs450/- respectively. food is available in the attached restaurant. it is just about average. but served hot. staff is very helpful and also cater for addl requirement like hot water and warm milk. food available is thali for lunch /dinner. b' fast is mostly south indian.
