The city of Amritsar has a very rich heritage. It has a place in our history. From that angle it is quite similar to Varanasi and Kolkata. It has another similarity with those cities. All of them has a confluence of old and new. One the one side you will get narrow roads and cluttered lanes, innumerable cars and bikes, and rickshaws fighting for the space and on the other side you will get modern hotels , shopping malls and fly-overs.
