This resort shares its property with Oberoi Udaivillas and the moment you enter the main gate, you can feel the change. The dusty roads of Udaipur suddenly gives way to manicured gardens and well paved roads. Check in was smooth and we were given a pool facing room. I had expected to see the pool and Aravallis from my room and was bit disappointed to see that such a view is not possible from any of the rooms. The size of the room is standard 5 star size and it has all amenities that a 5 star should have except for bath robes. Don't know why they do not have that. The bathroom is decent size and you have to order toiletries as per your requirement. Room service is good and prompt. The rooms are cleaned twice a day. The pillows were excellent, just the way I wanted them. There is one bar and only one restaurant. Menu is limited. Their strength is continental and Indian. They make excellent mutton and lamb. Their weakness is Thai and Chinese food. I would recommend not to try these cuisines but stick to their mutton. The two things that exceeded our expectations is their service and the kids room. We select hotels based on the availability of kids room and this resort has the best kids room amongst all the five star properties we have stayed till date. The kids room is a huge tent with AC and has all types of games to keep the child busy. They also arranged for free horse and camel ride. The horse and camel ride was one of an experience for my son. Coming back to the service, its one thing being nice and smiling and servicing you. Its another thing to go out of your way to ensure that the service meets your expectation and also preempt your requirement. While cleaning the room, the room service staff found my son's cars lying around all over the room. They collected them, put the cars in a bag and left a note saying that they have done it. Another case was in the restaurant. They made tea for me three times, till it met my expectation. Its not that I had complained about the tea. When they found that I was not drinking the tea, they prepared it twice till it met my expectation. The staff were very pleasant and it was a pleasure interacting with them. The resort has beautiful gardens and you can find squirrels, peacocks in their garden. There are enough tress to provide you share from the sun and you can enjoy the breeze from Lake Pichola under the trees. Overall we had a wonderful experience and my son enjoyed a lot during those three days. The staff pampered him a lot during breakfast. For the rates we paid, this resort provided us much more than our value for money. Highly recommended More » « Hide

This hotel belongs to Maharaja of Jodhpur and this is his smallest property. The heritage building has 5 rooms and the architecture is typical British architecture. The newer building has another 5 rooms but built in standard Indian hotel room style We stayed in the heritage part. All the 5 rooms are different and unfortunately for us we got the room which is on the outside verandha and it seemed to be the smallest of the rooms. However the room had a bedroom, a changing room and a bathroom. Basic amenities were there in the room. The decor was typical old British style. Bathroom was neat and clean. A lot of people had complained about service. However we found the service to be top notch. There is a common dining room with a table for 10 people. So during dinner different guests sit across the table and its a good place to meet with new people. This is something that never happens in bigger hotels. The food is home cooked and is prepared as per your instruction. I would recommend to stick with Indian food here which is their strength. The food is prepared hot and served while you eat and as per your instruction. Its like a home away from home. The property is nice with lot of greenery. The lawns could be better maintained, particularly when you see the lawns of the neighboring Kishangarh House. The good thing about this property is that it is located near the taxi stand and market. So getting a vehicle is never a problem. Check in and Check out was very smooth. If you have a kid, there are lawns and swings for them to play. Other than that there isnt much to keep them occupied. Overall its a good hotel and would recommend it. More » « Hide

The entire hotel has a shabby look and the finishing is quite bad. The floors have some sort of wooden cover which is wobbly at many places. Avoid the staircase to first floor. Its dangerous. The room is spacious and design is good. But again finishing is poor. The wash basin tap was loose, pillow cover is of poor quality and every paper from menu card to writing pad is folded at the corners. Floor in the room is again wobbly. Did not get hot water in the shower. However the service is good. Room was cleaned twice in a day. Room service was good too. The hotel is compact. So from the room one can here the crooner at the bar below. Food is decent but nothing to write about. Bit oily though. Had attended a seminar here. The banquet hall is huge but the toilets and the surrounding is pretty sad. Business center is damn costly. Print outs cost around 50 bucks per page Overall I was all the more dissapointed coz I had higher expectation from a HHI brand hotel. This is at best a 3 star hotel. Barring the location and service, nothing much to write about. Definitely not a luxuary hotel. More » « Hide

This was my first visit to Kashipur and I did not have any high expectation from the hotels in this region. I was however pleasantly surprised to find such a good hotel here in Kashipur. The hotel is bang on a main road in Kashipur and the outside is quite dusty. The second floor is under construction. But that did not affect me at night. It was a tiresome day when I checked in at 10 pm. The room was on ground floor and it faced a garden. The room had all basic amenities from mini bar to flat screen 50" TV to coffee and tea maker. There was Tata Sky connection too. Bathroom was pretty decent and the toiletries was a surprise too. The shampoo, soap and conditioner were not run of the mill medimix kind but looked like they were specially packaged for the hotel. Shaving kit and dental kit were also provided. There were two large towels and one hand towel in the bathroom and hot and cold water facility was there. The room was spacious and service was prompt. The furniture were not painted. Now it could be either coz thats how the interior design was planned or that they have decided to use the unpainted furniture till they get time to paint them. Either way it was not too much of an issue. Breakfast buffet had quite a good spread for a 3 star hotel. Check in and check out was quick and the everyone was very courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel for business travelers. More » « Hide

The hotel is located near the railway station and a part of the boundary wall has been torn down for metro construction. The entrance patio is smaller compared to the other properties. However it scores big on comfort and service. We got an excellent deal coz April to September is off season. We got a third night free and so we had booked the Rajputana Royal, the highest category room (other than suite) that the hotel had to offer. The room is 340 sq ft and is divided between the bedroom and the bathroom. The bedroom has all facilities that one expects of a 5 Star hotel. What we loved was the master switch concept and the fact that the TV becomes mute when someone is talking on the room intercom. Small things that show how much thought the hotel has put in to make the stay comfortable. There is a pillow menu and you can choose from a wide variety of pillows so that you can sleep peacefully. Bathroom has ITC's high end toiletries and there was ample toiletries.Compared to other 5 stars where we had stayed, here the quantity of the toiletries was much bigger. So instead of the small soaps that are provided in most 5 star, here they give you a 50gm Fiama di Willis soap. Likewise high end shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer etc, However the only drawback was the absence of any faucet in the potty. So if you are not accustomed to toilet papers then you will have hard time. Overall the room was excellent and comfortable. The hotel has three restaurants - Chandravanshi, the coffee shop, Jal Mahal and Peshawari. There is a bar - Seesh Mahal. Being a ITC regular, I found the options very limited.Am not a fan of Peshawari and Jal Mahal only served buffet. So we had most of our lunches and dinners at coffee shop. Food variety was limited in coffee shop and there was hardly any Rajasthani dish there. More than the food we were bowled over by the hospitality of the staff at the restaurant. They are very attentive to your every need and are very proactive. Never seen any waiter asking whether he will get you a special tea when you are having buffet. These people made the stay all the more memorable. Other than this the other we found other facilities like swimming pool, SPA, room service, check in and check out at par with other 5 star resorts. However was very disappointed with the kid's playpen. The playroom is in one corner of the resort and looked shabby. Out of 3 days, we found it closed for 2 days. Overall we are extremely pleased with the comfort and service and would love to come back. This property is small and some parts are under renovation and one would miss the grandeur of ITC properties of Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore or Mumbai, but am sure the service and warmth of the staff will make your stay memorable.
