ITC Rajputana is one of the smaller properties of ITC Hotels. The hotel is located near the railway station and a part of the boundary wall has been torn down for metro construction. The entrance patio is smaller compared to the other properties.
However it scores big on comfort and service. We got an excellent deal coz April to September is off season. We got a third night free and so we had booked the Rajputana Royal, the highest category room (other than suite) that the hotel had to offer. The room is 340 sq ft and is divided between the bedroom and the bathroom. The bedroom has all facilities that one expects of a 5 Star hotel. What we loved was the master switch concept and the fact that the TV becomes mute when someone is talking on the room intercom. Small things that show how much thought the hotel has put in to make the stay comfortable. There is a pillow menu and you can choose from a wide variety of pillows so that you can sleep peacefully.
Bathroom has ITC's high end toiletries and there was ample toiletries.Compared to other 5 stars where we had stayed, here the quantity of the toiletries was much bigger. So instead of the small soaps that are provided in most 5 star, here they give you a 50gm Fiama di Willis soap. Likewise high end shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer etc, However the only drawback was the absence of any faucet in the potty. So if you are not accustomed to toilet papers then you will have hard time. Overall the room was excellent and comfortable.
The hotel has three restaurants - Chandravanshi, the coffee shop, Jal Mahal and Peshawari. There is a bar - Seesh Mahal. Being a ITC regular, I found the options very limited.Am not a fan of Peshawari and Jal Mahal only served buffet. So we had most of our lunches and dinners at coffee shop. Food variety was limited in coffee shop and there was hardly any Rajasthani dish there. More than the food we were bowled over by the hospitality of the staff at the restaurant. They are very attentive to your every need and are very proactive. Never seen any waiter asking whether he will get you a special tea when you are having buffet. These people made the stay all the more memorable.
Other than this the other we found other facilities like swimming pool, SPA, room service, check in and check out at par with other 5 star resorts. However was very disappointed with the kid's playpen. The playroom is in one corner of the resort and looked shabby. Out of 3 days, we found it closed for 2 days.
Overall we are extremely pleased with the comfort and service and would love to come back. This property is small and some parts are under renovation and one would miss the grandeur of ITC properties of Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore or Mumbai, but am sure the service and warmth of the staff will make your stay memorable.
