I refer this trip as ‘obvious’ because my first trip was great. And to my luck, the second trip, one year later, also turned out to be good, may be a little better than the first one. Among Nalapad Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore. I would rate the Mysore one as the best. Not only is it cost-efficient but also more spacious, clean and houses a restaurant, known best for its sea-food! More » « Hide

If you are looking at a speedy-getaway from Bangalore or any other nearby places, then may be this is for you. Approximately 24 kms away from the Bangalore, this place is a mix of Indian-styled architecture and Italian-like landscapes. An electric combination, definitely! The resort houses eight rooms and two cottages. Priced at Rs 4000 including tax, I would definitely recommend the cottage as it not only overlooks its own private lawn it but is also equally magnanimous in size and comfortable. Though the resort is built only on a few acres, its space planning is something that you will be marvelled at. The criss-cross paths, a spaciously built amphitheatre, main courtyard, a non-functional stream running across the resort, old-styled benches to recline upon, kids play area.... you wont miss a thing and yet wont feel its crowded. The food is not exemplary and yet is above average. It scores a point because of its ‘simplicity’ in both taste and food items. However, you can definitely indulge in a plate of pakoras and evening snacks... makes your evening! More » « Hide

Who said Ooty has lost its charm, is polluted and is 'over-exploited' by the raving tourists?... .. Who said Ooty has lost its charm, is polluted and is 'over-exploited' by the raving tourists? KingsCliff is a testimony to the glorious past of the yesteryears. Its colonial style of architecture greets you into a world of swanky and ritzy lifestyle while its clean and crisp attired staff gently try to fulfil, your every whim and fancy - be it even serving you hot jalebis with ice cream, at midnight!! Kings Cliff is reminiscence of a time when royals were treated like gods and pampered with every possible luxury – something that KingsCliff now offers you. Though its ideally settled on its own steep 'cliff' and is surrounded by Nilgiris, it is just a 15-minute-walk from the main town! An advantage to the shoppers and city-addicts! For the rest of us it is truly a ‘luxury and solitude space reserved silently over the mountains’ More » « Hide

What began as a dreaded holiday in a \'so-non holiday\' spot actually turned reverse when we reached the place early at three in the morning. Trees in its wistful hue and air filled with mystique and anticipation... we reached the resort that overlooks one of the most eye-catching valleys. Its a perfect description of an isolated undwinding spot. Filled with do-it-yourself activites that include boating, trekking, exploring (estate and nearby villages) , the resort also hosts one of the best rooms / cottages that speak of the rustic flavor, prevalent among such estates. A huge, blossoming \'Untamed Garden\', endless \'misty pathways\', the air soaking in \'calmess\' and you absorbing the \'serene attitude\' of the wild nature, now that is- Alath Cad. This place has been one of our best \'homestay\' ever . The best thing about it is its \'wild, untamed, dense 60 acres\' -all left to your exploration and equally spirited spirit!! More » « Hide
