Ladakh (Leh) by Partha from Kolkata
|
As the months get colder, Ladakh, in Jammu-Kashmir, with its snow-capped peaks, multi-hued mountains, and placid blue lakes only makes for a sight that is more dramatic and stunning. The place is covered with rivers and streams like this that seem to have frozen right while in full flow.
HIQ member Partha suggests that you try the Chadar Trk here. He says, “It is a unique trek for brave hearts when they have to encounter - 20 degree Celsius or below. But the sights are wonderful, villagers welcome you and you get a sense of achievement in an otherwise dull life of office, parties, drinking, and procreation.”

Palolem by Ronak, Mumbai
|
Relaxing walks on secluded shores of Palolem, one of the unspoiled beaches in Goa. “Early morning or late evenings will be the best time to visit these backwaters,” says Ronak. You are sure to be captivated by the magical sunrise and sunset over the clear waters.
Ronak also suggests, “There are chances of sighting a dolphin while on this trip. There are snorkelling tours offered by some operators. Check out the backwaters on the north end of the beach by hiring a boat. No water sports are offered in Palolem except for kayaking. It is worth trying.”
