This journey was awesome, I went to Bangalore by Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express from Delhi to Bangalore and the total journey was 25 hours. We reached Bangalore at morning 6 am and the Bangalore's whether was awesome. In Bangalore we travelled to Iskon Temple, Cubbon Park, Bangalore Fort etc. in three days.
It's our holiday travel. We haven't got reservations in other trains so we have to choose this train. Itís a long route. Every other thing, seats, AC, food, toilets all were good, but it's a long journey comparatively. You can get reservation in this train if you have not much option. The pantry food was average, you can have them.
Horrible experience as we didn't get reservation in first AC. We had to adjust five people on four berths that too without AC. Damn boiling in and due to rains in Mumbai our berths got wet. In short words it was a horrible experience by travelling in train without AC.
We travelled by Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express from Yeshwantpur to Pune on Tue 5th Nov.13. by AC 3 Tier express.rnrnThe journey was punctual and comfortable. In fact the train arrived at Pune 20 mins before time and had to wait at the outer signal for a platform.rnrnThe 3AC compartment we travelled in B1 was a new compartment made in Oct.13. It was clean and had a bio digester in the toilet and jet spray in the toilet which is very useful for sr. citizens. The charging points were in good working condition. The lights were bright and useful for reading in the evenings. The beds provided were clean and comfortable. The AC worked well during the journey.rnrnThe flip side were the cushions in the seats and berths were very thin - and uncomfortable as compared to the berths in the older 3AC coaches. Railways need to review this aspect.rnrnWe did not carry food as we there was a pantry car in the train. However the service from the pantry was pathetic. For evening snacks they had only one item bread butter with cutlet for veg. For dinner they refused to serve thali which was shown in the menu. They had only one item Veg. Biryani for veg. customers. Even this came with a lid mentioning Non Veg Biryani. When he questioned the server he gave a lame excuse that the food is veg, but the cover is wrongly printed. The price is also very high at Rs.80/ for a veg, biryani and Rs.50/ for cutlet with 2 slices of bread with butter. The food and snacks were cold when served and the servers were rude. When asked for a complaint book, he said they do not have one and said "you do what you want to do" implying I do not care for your complaints.rnrnWe get much better variety of snacks and meals in all other trains in South. Why cant we get better variety and service in the Sampark Kranti trains. Why can't we get South Indian food in trains originating from Bangalore ?
