I fell to go to Munnar, the best way is to travel by train, get down in Eranakulam junction, there are various start time timings among them, from Bangalore climb the train at around 5:00 pm and we will be there in the morning at around 4:30 am. I had booked 2 tier AC which is affordable than the sleeper bus. Yes neatness within the train was ok.

Preferable for couples, the places are kannan devan museum, wild sanctuary, view point. I feel rose garden was also good. We had been to most places in Munnar, massaging was also good. We enjoyed the trip. If you are going in a group, then go to Alleppey boat house. If you are couples then...more »

We boarded the train from Bangalore and then hired a cab from Cochin which was easy for us. Taxi driver was cooperative and took us to almost all good places. We spent some time in Moovatupuzha as well. Journey was not tiresome and enjoyed every bit of it.

This is a Mumbai to Tirunelveli express with boarding at Yeshwantpur. From a time standpoint, it starts at 10 pm & reaches Madurai at 8 am. Personally, I feel this is a long time for 550 km. However, this is very comfortable as you get a good sleep. From Madurai, Munnar is 130 km and the route is quite good. The Club Mahindra resort is 15 km from munnar town and hence you reach there by 3 hours.

We look the train from Bangalore city Railway Station to Ernakulam. From Ernakulam we went by taxi to Munnar. It was an overnight journey. It works out cheaper. It is better to carry food because the quality of food served in trains is not good. Toilets were clean the day we travelled but can't guarantee that.

Taking the train from Bangalore to Ernakulam is a nice break from the rush to fly between the cities. Overall, the travel time is a bit longer by train but much more relaxing and the food was okay. The cabins were great! The beds super (Surprisingly) comfortable and then when the beds were put away. Very good experience.
