If you are planning for weekend trip, then Chamundi Express is best option for you. It departs at 6:15 in evening. Even if you miss the train due to Bangalore traffic, you can still catch a passenger train which departs at 7 Pm. You can easily get the seat.

No food is served on this train, they say it is only served from Bangalore to Chennai and Chennai to Bangalore sectors, what nonsense. Railways when will they give customer satisfaction. Clean train, okay toilets, fast train, takes 2 hours to reach Mysore.

It was good experience in the train. All the passengers were good in the train, but I could see this train as local train and all passengers are allowed to enter in Sleeper and AC coach even if they were having general ticket. TT was telling they were regular passenger.

Mode of Transport:Train
Generally, the 1st preference goes to train owing to lesser cost and more comfort. But on Bangalore-Mysore section, trains also happens to be faster and more of all start from the center of the City

Though morning trains are more convenient, this train has an advantage of leaving later in the day from Bangalore (10:30) and hence the crowd is lesser. Though this has an overtake by the Shatabdi, it generally reaches on time owing to short turn around time. More comfortable with me, my mom and dad sitting comfortably in the train all the way to Mysore from Bangalore.

Overall, trains are better as the train took just 2 hrs 35 minutes on that day to reach Mysore which was equal to journey by a Volvo. It was awesome.

Train travel from Bangalore to Mysore takes on 4 hours. The train Golgumbaz Exp is good. I recommend you to travel by train since it is the safest option and also you can enjoy the serene nature beauty on the route. There are many trains available to travel from Bangalore to Mysore. I select this train since its time is convenient.
