The Journey was awesome and it was good!! Felt happy and refreshed!

Mysore is the place of kings and queens. The heritage city of Mysore is surrounded with green. The most happening thing in Mysore is Dasara. The train in which I travelled was the most happening train of Mysore which is running daily to Mysore and Bangalore.

I suggest travellers to travel by Shatabdi. I loved the travelling experience in Shatabdi. Firstly you can reach Mysore early and secondly they provide services in the train. The food in Chennai Mysore Shatabdi is the worst you can ever find in a train. If you are travelling by this train please carry your own food. Never try and eat the absolutely substandard food given on train. Apart from the bad food, the way they are served leaves a lot to be desired.

The train is supposed to be super-fast. But there is crossing all the way where the train stops for many minutes. Finally it reached Mysore by 6:30 P.M. instead of 5:30 P.M. I travelled in second sitting. There is a TV in the train for entertainment. Since I booked for window seat, the Cauvery river branches and the canals were nice to see all the way to Mysore. It was a treat to see the green paddy and sugarcane fields. Nearly 20 different birds I could see. Flocks of cranes and egrets were there in the field. Beautiful sunset was another thing I enjoyed forgetting the late arrival of the train.

The caterers were bringing something or the other constantly. Near Maddur the famous Maddur vadas were available. It looked nice, Rs.10/vada. But the taste was not good. Best bet is 'timepass' groundnuts.
