We picked Mysore express-16231 as it leaves from Bangalore early in the morning and reaches Mysore at around 9:30 from where you can catch a bus to Ooty. Travelling to Ooty in the day time gives excellent chance of enjoying the scenic beauties and also the two national parks (though you wonít see much of the animals and you have to take a safari to enjoy the same). It takes around 6 to 7 hours to reach Ooty and itís already dark. There are many hotels and lounge to stay. We were charged Rs 700 for four people (off season). For cheap accommodation you can enquire few of them and you are sure to find one. They are within 1 km perimeter of the bus stop. On the same day you can roam in the local market and the next day you can start your sightseeing at around 8:30 or 9 in the morning. If you are a big group then you can book a mini traveller and if you are a small gang then go by cab. We went in off season so cab charged us 1300 for almost 14 places (Though you have to do a little bit of enquiry). In the evening we left for Coonoor via toy train (which is another marvel of this hill station). Also take atleast one warm cloth with you.

The view from the train was very nice. There was greenery all around and there was a slight drizzle. It ran between green fields, valleys, hills and forests. The distant trees seemed to move in the opposite directions. The sights that attracted us most on the way were that of the green fields.
