"I booked a 2wk holiday..."

  • Posted Apr 18, 2009
I booked a 2wk holiday with Thomas Cook UK. The experience was dreadful. I have visited Calangute many times (12+) but not this hotel. The rooms were small, dark and smelled. No vent from the bathroom so the whole place smelled of drains - or worse!!! The furniture was old and broken and infested with a small termite insect which came out mostly it seemed at night - and yes got in the bed your clothes it was a nightmare. Towels were provided by the hotel but like the bedsheets were dirty, stained smelled unpleasant and were very rough indeed.

Best Experience: The hotel is located 2 mins walk from the beach - and excellent location.

Worst Experience: The lock on my case was tampered with, actually broken but fortunately for me it did not open hence nothing was taken. This was reported to the General Manager who in front of fellow guests and the Holiday rep, Claire, called me a liar, a typical foreigner and told me 'if you do not feel safe in my hotel - you go'! he was a realy charmer.... I wonder which school of management he graduated from????

"I have been to Goa..."

  • Posted Dec 2, 2008
I have been to Goa several times over the past two decades but this hotel has been special. It\'s built in a Portuguese Style architecture, two storeys, with very well spread out units and lots of greenery et al. I always preferred staying at the 1-bedroom apartment units which the hotel calls them as suites which are very spacious, with large balconies, living room and bedroom with attached toilet and shower. It has nice swimming pool which is well serviced by the the local but well mannered and helpful staff. The location of the resort in unbeatable, on the beach and is good for all segments be it family, couples, honeymooners and the party-goers. It\'s very close to the hotspots of Goa namely Tito\'s, Cavala etc. and yet a bit far to enjoy the privacy.

Best Experience: I am quite a demanding customer and if they could keep me happy and satisfied, then they are good. They really looked after our kids and kept them busy. Always ready to help not the Taj style but the in the Goan Style....

Worst Experience: None at all...Yes someone may say that its not a 4-star or a 5-star but holidays are not to be spent inside 5-star rooms but to experience and carry home sweet memories.

"I Have been to Goa....."

I Have been to Goa.. a lott of times and whenever I have stayed in North..I stayed here...Its a pretty reasonable bargain...and the resort is situated on walking distance from the Calangute Beach...the rooms are decent..the bathrooms are clean....there\'s a nice big pool too...cant say much \'bout the food and activities though...but the advantage is its very near to the main market of Calangute..and there are lots of good restaurants and lounges nearby if you wish to enjoy a tasty bite....And you can anytime walk on to the beach and relax in the shacks out there..so its a best bargain to stay in North Goa......
