Sterling Resorts - Manali, Himachal Pradesh
Sterling Manali is one of the better maintained resorts of Sterling. The Resort is on the other side of River Beas in an area popularly known as New Manali. This gives the visitor an ample peace of mind after a long journey to Manali as compared to hotels/resorts situated on or about the Mall Road. The resort is beautiful and the service and facilities satisfactory. A functioning library, play area and working Activity Department which arranges bon-fires, housies, fun-fairs, etc. everyday comes as a pleasant surprise. The food is OK. The travel desk does not arrange for regular sightseeing tours [as is done in certain other Sterling Resorts]; however customized bookings can be done. Always press for a room to be given in the old block rather than being pushed into the new block. Overall, it is a satisfying experience.
The restaurant manager and stewards are extremely friendly and easy to communicate with. Perhaps provide the best services to their clients.
My room in the new block was screaming for maintenance and upkeep. The lock was hanging on its edge, the kitchenette shutters were not closing properly, fridge was not functioning and the commode left no space to manoeuvre.
