Highlights:

• Da Parbatia temple -This is the oldest temple in Tezpur built in the 6th century - remains of the elaborate carved gate and statues of gods and goddesses can be seen here.
• Chitralekha Udyan -This is a pretty landscaped garden interspersed with ancient statues and stone pillars it also has water sports facilities and pleasant walkways.
• Agnigarh Hill - Another picturesque garden situated on a hill-top, this is a good place for a picnic or evening outing. You can get a stunning view of the Brahmaputra and the Kalia Bhomora bridge from here.
• Nameri National Park is 40 kms from Tezpur and you can see the rare white winged wood duck here, apart from the black bear, deer and elephants. Tea gardens - There are a total of 73 tea gardens in Sonitpur district, including Monabari which is Asia's biggest tea garden. The green plantations on the rolling slopes of the hills are a legacy of the British days and exude the charm of the days gone by. You can visit these gardens to see the process of tea manufacture and to soak in the atmosphere.
