KUFRI was the original ski-slope developed by the British. It is a popular activity for those who visit Shimla during the winter snows. Another slope is the Mahasu Ridge, a little away.

NARKANDA is a beautiful hill-station 64 km from Shimla. Here, you have all levels of ski slopes - beginners, advanced, and the slalom run.

SOLANG VALLEY is the most happening ski slope 14 km from Manali, popular because it allows skiing in summer and winter. You can do a bit of para-gliding as well, and end up with a picnic lunch.

ACTIVITIES

Skiing: If you love snow and have a good sense of balance, skiing can be a thrilling sport. Skiis and other required equipment can be hired from the various stalls at the ski slopes. 

Tobaggoning: This is a fun sport for families and children less challenging than skiing.

Heli-skiing is a new fad and quite expensive. You are taken to the top of a mountain by helicopter and dropped on to the slope. From here you ski down at a fantastic speed because of the height you are descending from. Definitely for the brave hearted! Centres for this sport are around Chanderkhani Pass, Hanuman Tibba and Rohtang Pass.
