PARASNATH
Situated on top of the highest peak in
Jharkhand, Sikayi Hill, is the famous Jain temple dedicated to the 23rd
tirthankara, Parsvanatha. It is an extremely holy pilgrimage spot for the
Jains, as it is believed the great sage attained nirvana here. Devout pilgrims
climb the peak by foot, from the starting point at Madhuban, and the entire
walk up takes around three hours. The surrounding panoramas from the top of the
peak are beautiful. Parasnath is in Giridih District, 179km from Ranchi. |
