| Sarita and Nagesh Ram decided to visit India's most remote state capital - Aizwal, combined with their trip to Shillong. They traveled by bus from Shillong on an over-night journey. The experience of this North-Eastern state was fascinating. The pretty town of Aizwal is perched on a ridge and surrounded by mountains and the green valleys of Tlawng and Tuirial rivers.

Highlights:
Chaltlang Hill - this is an excellent viewpoint of the scenic valley.
Bara Bazar - this is the largest market in the Zarkawt downtown area. You can shop for ethnic handicrafts, jewellery and clothes here.
State Museum - this little museum has a good collection of tribal costumes and implements.
AROUND AIZWAL
Tamdil Lake - this scenic lake is an 85km drive from Aizwal – it is a great spot for a picnic and you can enjoy boat rides and fishing here.
Vantawang waterfalls - this is a spectacular natural spot close to the Thenzawl hill station, 150km from Aizwal. It is an excellent place for hiking and the adventurous at heart could try and scale the Phawngpui, the highest peak in the region.
