Highlights:

Rashtrapati Bhavan, this sprawling estate on 5 acres of gardens, is the official residence of the President of India. Designed by Lutyens as a blend of Indian and Colonial styles, this regal red-and-beige building was formerly the British Viceroy's palace.

Rajpath is the imposing path leading to India Gate, a massive sandstone arch in memory of soldiers who lost their lives in World War I. The lawns at India Gate are crowded most evenings with families enjoying ice-creams and street food.

Parliament House, or Sansad Bhavan, is to the left of Rashtrapati Bhavan, while the North Block and South Block are two grand structures that house the Central Government Departments.

Lodhi Gardens is a green haven in the heart of Delhi with lawns, flower beds and exotic trees. It houses the tombs of the Lodhi Kings, but is now a lively spot for joggers and picnic parties.

Teen Murti Bhavan is the former residence of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, and is now a museum showcasing his life.

Bahai Lotus Temple perched atop a hill in Kalkaji is a stunning white marble structure in the shape of a lotus. Built by the Bahai sect in 1986, the temple is surrounded by vast green lawns and pools and has a hall for meditation.
