This is an unusual National Park that many people do not visit. But its one of the best regions of Terai landscape. It stretches from the River Suheli in the south, to the Nepal border in the north. Many animals, including tigers are found in the grasslands of Dudhwa. You can see sloth bear, swamp deer or Barasingha, leopards, other smaller cats, wild hogs, and crocodiles in the river. There is an enormous variety of birdlife. Dudhwas was once home to the Indian rhino, but it was hunted out completely. Now a small group of rhinos has been re-introduced from Assam and is doing well.

How to get to Dudhwa:

Nearest airport Lucknow (onwards by taxi or car)

Nearest station Shahjahanpur - shared jeeps and taxis available from there.

By road - drive via Moradabad, Bareilly, Shajhanpur to Palia.

When to go - The park is open from Nov 15 to Jun 15. It is completely closed in the monsoons.
