Packed with exciting destinations, Uttaranchal or Uttarakhand is a tourism hotspot. Haridwar is the gateway to the hills, moving further up to Rishikesh and the Char Dham pilgrimages in the Garhwal region. On the other side is the Kumaon region, again dotted with hill-stations like Nainital, Ranikhet, Binsar and Mukteshwar that are major Uttarakhand tourism highlights. Dehradunand Mussoorie are two more favourite tourism spots in Uttarakhand. Lower down in the foothills is the great wildlife experience of CorbettNational Park famous for tigers, and the RajajajiNational Park that is home to huge herds of elephants.
