Kakragadh is the one of beautiful place in Uttaranchal. though this place is not too popular for tourists. but now a days through Bhraman Patrika tourists are getting information about Kakragadh.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Kakragadh is a very sound less and beautiful place. From Kakragagh Viri one of small town and you will get many things there. From Kadragagh Viri is 3 K.M.

Activities & things to do: You can see different type of birds there in Kakragadh. From kakragadh go to Viri, in the way you will get see beauty of Mandakini river and scenic beauty of hills.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Any part of India you reach to Haridwar, from there you take a Himalayan Express (little bus) around 5pm in morning then u will reach at Kakragadh around 2pm. in the way u will get Rishikesh, Laxman Jhula. In the world, Uttaranchal is the one of best and beautiful place. It is an absouletly green place.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Lot of beautiful place there in Uttaranchal. Activities & things to do: Do not do anything only roam whole day.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Go to hills early in the morning in Uttaranchal, take private car or express bus from Haidwar. From there you can go to Debprayag, Rudraprayag, Kakradadh, Ukhimoth, Joshimoth, Kedernath, Badrinath, Guptakashi, Khirshu, Biyas, Shialshore, Shibpuri, Gopeswar, Tunganath, Chandrashila, Dogolvita etc.

It was really a breathtaking experience as we never trek and many of or 50 member group had height phobia, but still was completed without any problems. really the god resides here.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Just enjoy the whole trip even if u get or don't get any food or shelter. But best don't go on your own, go through any travel agency.

Activities & things to do: Keep taking gods name in your mouth and don't panic for any thing.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Go through Haridwar with the help of travel agents

"Corbett"

  • Posted Feb 14, 2011
We went to Corbett just last week from Feb 9th to 11th. The place is cool. If you want to do a holiday with jungle theme this is a nice option. You will need 3D 2N stay to make the most.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We stayed in Club Mahindra Resort. It is an excellent place situated on the bank of the river. Early morning when you take a stroll along the river side, the water gushing sound is music.
Food here is great, but expensive. They also have a exclusive grill outlet where hot roasted sizzling delicacies are served. Uou will enjoy it a lot. This place is outdoor and it's very cold out there. They provide you a kind of Angithi (Red hot charcoal bed) to keep you warm.

Activities & things to do: There is a temple of Goddess Girija which was fun in olden days when you had to cross the river to go there. Now they have built a bridge but still it is a great location. One side it is jungle, another a river and there stands the temple amidst all this.
In Corbett you have jungle Safaris as the main activities. There are two main forest regions for the safaris. One is Dhikala which you can only do with Canter and another is Bijrauni where you can hire a private Gypsy and go. Nevertheless we did not meet anyone who saw the tiger. They say it's matter of luck. But since these are only things to do here, you go for it. Although the cost is prohibitive but still one can check it out. We booked it through club Mahindra so we paid almost double,. Best is to go to them on your own and do the bookings that will save your money. Do go through your hotel. You may also try Elephant Safari but chances are same. Only difference is that elephant takes you inside the jungle and vehicle moves only on the road. Dhikala is a very large forest area - largest among all - but when you go in the canter, it makes lot of noise.
There are other places like Museum etc. to go in the interim time.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The nearest station is Ramnagar. You get train from Delhi which goes straight to Ramnagar from here Corbett is just 10 KM. The same way you can return. We did not know about Ramnagar so we had booked our tickets from Kathgodam which is 70 KMS from Corbett. But all the time when we were discussing this with the Club Mahindra travel desk the guy never told us that we could go from Ramnagar station because we had requested him for a taxi to drop us to Kathgodam. May be it was in his interest to encash our ignorance so he did not give us correct guidance. So be it.

"Binsar / Chaukori / Nainital / Bhimtal - Sheer Bliss..."

  • Posted Jun 24, 2010
Went to Uttaranchal for my honeymoon. Chosen Uttaranchal as it is less crowded and the agents don't disturb you as they do trouble you in Shimla, Manali. Entire Kumaon belt is superb and with sheer bliss.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Stayed at 3 places, Binsar, Chaukori and Bhimtal. Binsar is a very nice serene place. There are many places to go around. Almora is a nice cosy place, but the market is not that great as hyped. Visit to Golu temple, Jageshwar, Baijnath is a must if you are going towards Binsar. The drive their is simply amazing. You can go to Kasauni also from Binsar.

Their is no such place which has so much serenity and beauty like Chaukori. Chaukori is simply amazing. Any honeymooners who plans to go to Uttaranchal and doesn't visit Chaukori then it is simply a wastage of the trip. Overall very less crowded and you can give time to your closed ones...There are many places to visit around Chaukori, people can go to Patal Bhuvneshwar(must must visit), their is a park which has Kasturi deers though you are not allowed to click photos but since the deers are on extinction list worth the 45 mins trek. People must visit Munsiyari as the Himalayas look simply amazing from there. Also Nanda devi temple is close by to Munsiyari.

Bhimtal is arnd half hour from Nainital, the only reason to stay in Bhimtal is that the hotel rates are nearly 50 percent cheaper than Nainital and there are 3 lakes nearer to Bhimtal i.e. Saatal, Bhimtal and Nauktichal.

Activities & things to do: You should be a nature lover if you are travelling here. Also if you love trekking Munsiyari is a nice place to go.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: You can reach Uttaranchal by train from Delhi or there are many buses which go Nainital, Almora from Delhi.

Only thing you need to take care of it is that you carry water and there are far from less rest rooms available in this area.. else the place is a beauty... :)
