Well for all those people who think that Diu and Daman are the same place please don't think so . . they both are different places. . Diu is certainly better then Daman . .
Its beautiful and the beaches are cleaner then Daman. The only problem is the heat. . if you are there in summers plz don't go out till its 5 in the evening. Rest Diu rocks. . Daman is quite a commercialised place full of industries. Though its a hot destination for people living in South Gujarat, since its very close.Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Diu has many places to see unlike Daman. Daman is quite commercialised full of industries. At Diu you can visit the fort which now is a jail. You can visit some good churches and also the market. But the best thing to do is Relax, Relax and Relax. Activities & things to do
Diu still has the touch of the old Portuguese culture which can clearly be seen if you visit old Diu. But there's hardly anything that you should shop at Diu or Daman. Its a holiday junction where you can eat, drink and be merry . . Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Straight way to reach Diu is from A'bad to Bhavnagar to Diu. The roads are good till a place called Una which is at around 1 hours distance from Diu.
While for Daman, you go from Surat to Vapi to Daman & if you are coming from Mumbai then from Vapi to Daman. Take care of the heat at both the places. . The days are gone when there use to be cool breeze blowing at the beaches. |
