We covered following places enroute to Jog falls in the same order
1. Kalhathgiri water falls on way to Kemmanagundi
2. Bhadra dam and reservoir(River Bhadra)
3. Gajanur dam and reservoir(River Tunga)
4. Jog falls
5. Garesoppe view
5. Sharavati back waters on a launchFood, sight-seeing and shopping
Its an amazing trip which covers beautiful sight seeing with lots of greenery and water. Activities & things to do

This trip was covered in 2 days during August 2006. All the places except Garesoppe can be seen enroute to Jog falls. Garesoppe view is around 20 kms from Jog falls. For Sharavati back waters, you have to reach a place called Sigandhur around 35 kms from Sagar after Shimoga.
Kalhathgiri falls, Bhadra dam and Gaajanur dam are before Shimoga. Jog falls is around 95 kms from Shimoga and Sagar is around 70 kms from Shimoga. The best time to visit these places is during monsoon when the water is at high level. | |
