Overview of the destination
An amazing travel experience- A little bit of everything to match all palates and pockets. The cleanest state I have seen in India, No plastic strewn around, no kachra on the roadsides. Had a great holiday - came back with a desire to rush back again!

Food, sight-seeing and shopping
Munnar- Homestays at cottages; Munnar Inn, Silver Spoon, Saravanan for food; KDHP factory outlet for spices and oils; shops in town sell local artifacts, spices, cashew and good homemade chocolate(Real brand). Taxis and buses available for day trips to Chinnar and Eravikulam sanctuaries,Rajamaly, Top Station, Spice plantations, etc. Fort Cochin - Old heritage homes offer homestay, open air cookouts for fresh fish on waterfront, Elite restaurant - good food, great pastries. Jew Village - fantastic shopping. Entire town - walk through history.

Activities & things to do
Munnar - trekking, wildlife spotting, rappelling, white water rafting, boating, elephant rides, sightseeing. Fort Cochin - Boating, Kathakali theatre, sightseeing, shopping on a grand scale

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
We travelled from Pune to Mumbai by Volvo - 3 1/2 hrs., Flight from Mumbai to Cochin - 1 hr. 45 mins., drive to Munnar by taxi - 4 hrs. For hiring taxis go direct to the taxi owners, in between agents have their cut so the fares go up if you book through agents.
