Kodaikanal-A tourist's delight
Overview of the destination
Kodaikanal is a hill station situated 2000 meters above mean sea level. The weather is well below 20 degrees centigrade during summer. Its a place wherein you can spend quality time amidst beautiful and natural sceneries around.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping
There are quite a few places in around Kodai. More than the sightseeing its the weather and the natural beauty that draws more tourists from around Tamilnadu and Kerala. The places to visit are on a single road. Pillar rocks, Guna caves and Green valley view are some of the places worth visiting. And the Kodaikanal lake its a beautiful star shaped lake about 5 km in radius...Its the best of the lot. As for the food, there are some good restaurants for both veg and non veg.

Activities & things to do
Camping can be arranged in hotels..and you have boating, horse riding and cycling around the lake which is lots of fun..

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Kodaikanal is around 3 hours drive from Dindigul. From Dindigul we have to travel to Batlagundu which is around 30 kms from Dindigul. From there starts the ghat road which lasts for about 50 kms(2 hours). Its really a wonderful experience to drive around the lush green mountains..Roads are good and wide so it shouldn't be a problem to drive on these roads...From Chennai its around 520 kms...Its a four lane road so it can be reached in around 9 hrs non stop..Roads are an absolute belter...but for a few places watch out for diversions.
