Food, sight-seeing and shopping
There is no shopping which is lovely. There is so much to do that makes you forget the hectic life you lead. Wade in for almost half a km during low tide, or go scuba diving to see the coral reef, snorkeling, glass bottomed boat, kayaking, water scooters, or a simple boat ride to go lagoon fishing. And of course just lazing on the white sands.

Activities & things to do
Scuba diving and snorkeling, boating and kayaking, lagoon fishing, and all other water sports are available and most of them can be done by almost everyone. I am not a good swimmer for example but i went scuba diving. Its safe, the water is neither deep nor turbulent (except in the monsoons)

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
Indian airlines has a single flight each day. You will need to book months in advance to get a seat. Ships from Cochin (there are several, you will need to check the itenerary) is the alternative. For a person who hasnt travelled by ship its an exciting experience. The arabian sea and its vastness is overwhelming. You would spot dolphins and plenty of flying fish on the voyage. But remember to set expectations right. Its a passenger ship not a cruise.
