Auroville for Spiritual Solace at 'Mediterranean' in India!
Overview of the destination
For a getaway trip combining realxation on the beach that excudes charm of its own, historical and cultural interest, water sports, and spiritual exploration, there are few to beat the Union Territory Of Pondicherry.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping
its great claim to fame is the Auribindo Asharam and Auroville, an international experiment in community living. But there is plenty of interest to be found simply by walking down a street: an incredible mix of spoken languages, french colonial and vernacular architecture and clothing and food. museums, monuments, botanical garden; picnicking ont he beach where the huge sea seems to have a life of its own, boat ride to have glimpse of dolphins... shop for famous hand crafted dolls called Puducheri bommai:terracota stuff, papier mache and plaster of paris, also shop for silk & hand died fabrics, handmade paper, rugs, bedroom furnishings, pottery, and bronzes.

Activities & things to do
Commune living may awaken body, mind & soul to refresh yourself to begin life anew after this 'out -of -this-world'holiday. The great heritage brought out and extended by the genius of Aurobindo [also a freedom fighter] and The mother may metamorphse your life or atleast you may lead a life that is more fulfilled & p'haps more meaning ful! Inspired, you take to meditaiton at the sea beach with the backdrop of waves and realise that 'infinite'gives infinte pleasure while finites leave you always unsatisfied. if not high order realisations, the entire place with avenues/villas on french names offer you a good change and a visual and an aesthetic feast!

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
An easy three and a half hour [162kms] drive on highway from Chennai. there is nothing to worry about -just relax and unwind.
