Trekking from Hilley to Barse: We were looking for a new destination where there were no people around me and we found Barse. But we had no idea about the place, so started from Pelling, staying at Sombaria forest rest house. It?s also a village. Luckily we found a perfect place which we were looking for. The rest house was at top of the hill. There was nothing except Himalayan range. It was so cold on the 1st week of March. Next day morning the rest house car left us to Hille in a cloudy morning. We started walking from there. It?s a 4km way inside the dense forest. After 15 minutes we got snow on the road - it?s increasing silently. Then we were trekking on the road of ice, skidding, falling & enjoying the trekking. After 2 hr we reach to Barse in a dense cloud & chilled cold. Stayed for an hour & back the same way, back to Sombaria in the warm touch of the Sikkimese reception.
It?s a big achievement for me & experience too.

There are very few hotels in Sombaria, Hilley. There are no big restaurants or shopping mall. Just not for tour; if you want peace & like adventure then plan for the tour to Barse otherwise please don't go. Beside this scenic beauty is not to be missed. Activities & things to do
Plan for a trekking first. Give more time for yourself. Nothing else. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
First reach to New Jalpaiguri station or Bagdogra airport. Book a car to Sombaria;
Or, reach to Gangtok & very next day book a car from there to Sombaria or Hilley. | |
