Kolkata | 18th May 2007 | | youmthang, heaven for nature lover | Overview of the destination
Yumthang is a very known place for travelers. We have a group of 6 person with baby girl. we booked a car & started from Gangtok. Its a long way to reach our 1st destination Lachung, a villege. 1st our car stop in front of the seven sister falls. after that through out the way we found lots of beautiful falls. altitude was slowly increasing parallely cold. When we reach to Lachung it was 8 at night in a chilled cold. there was a beautiful wooden room where we stay. after the dinner we sat in the balcony in a moonlit night. snow pics sparkling in a moon light. Long time in a chilled cold we go for bed.
Next morning we got a beautiful sun rise. after that moving out for Yumthang. after a few distance we found snow on the roadside. its also slowly increasing with the altitude. & very fortunately same time we found rhododendron(in local language this flower called guras). red, pink, violate & white this four color guras was decorated the road side. finally we reached to Yumthang in child wind. the valley was partly covered with snow & the river Lachungchu passes through the valley. after a hour with a beautiful landscape we decide to back to lachung. taking lunch & started to the way to Gangtok. on the same way. it was a beautiful journey always remembered in lonely time.Food, sight-seeing and shopping
there is no such restaurants. because it is a village.
or side seen also. because its all are beautiful nature. Activities & things to do
nothing to do just silently enjoy the nature. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc.
reach to new jalpaiguri station or bagdogra air port & take a car to gangtok. in gangtok there was lots of travel agencies or you can contact with your hotel to go to the yumthang. they can make for you everything. | |
