| JIMUTBAHAN Delhi | 17th January 2007 | | | A visit to Bakkhali sea beach | Overview of the destinationIt's a wonderful place to visit for those who like the splendour of a calm & serene sea beach. Food, sight-seeing and shopping The Sun set and the Sun rise at the Bakkhali sea beach is a magnificient sight for those who love the vast expanse of a quiet sea on a golden beach walked upon by the red crabs in perfect harmony with nature. The beach at Henry Island just about five kms from the Bakkhali beach is even more grandeur with its vast stretch spotless white sands surrounded by dense forest of Casuarina in the neighbourhood of the Sunderbon jungle area. The serenety and solititude of the place only broken by the occassional chirping of birds and the splash of waves is very enjoyable. Other than these beaches the place worth visiting is the Jambu Island, a very enjoyable trip by boat across the sea. Activities & things to do The place is for those romantic people who love the tranquility of a picturesque sea front; thus not many other kind of activities than those mentioned already are available. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. The place is about 135 kms from the city of Kolkata. It is accessible by road ( by bus and car ) from the city. There are suburban trains which goes from Sealdah station up to Namkhana from where one can can go by road ( by bus/car ). The journry time by bus/car takes about 3 to 3.5 hours. The train route takes about 4.5 to 5 hours. | |
