Phi Phi - you are a STUNNER!

There is something unexplainable that stirs inside you when you travel; making you feel poetic, ensuring you see everything around you for its raw natural beauty, also (I believe this) makes you more sensitive and reflective. Yet enough words can neither explicitly and accurately express the feeling nor can describe what your eyes truly see. It's like your own secret- because the same places visited by many will be seen and appreciated differently so what I see is only mine to cherish, mine to remember and mine to celebrate. But my trigger happy hands are always dying to capture these moments, striving to be able to at least freeze that beautiful place and time so that I do not forget how it made me feel or what I loved most about the places we visit. Often when I'm asked how I liked a place a visited, I almost always see myself struggling to put it into words. But through my photographs, I can try turn into a passionate storyteller, sharing a glimpse of paradise and travel back in time reminiscing.

Koh Phi Phi is an island in the Krabi province and has to be one of the most stunning places we've been to. It has some of the most unique and beautiful scenery in this world. Fine sandy beaches give way to soaring limestone cliffs to form a spectacular visual. You can safely conclude it to be a hedonistic paradise where tourists cavort in azure seas, party all night long on packed-out beaches and watch the lovely long-tails puttering between craggy cliffs. We are what one may call complete beach bums and therefore the beaches here were such a delight. Phi Phi can best be described as being a perfect marriage between the bodacious jungles and bleach-blonde beaches. Despite barely surviving the very unfortunate Tsunami in 2004, to rebuilding its lifeline back on the island, to facing an ecological threat, to entertaining hordes of tourists year round - the island has still managed to retain its own personality and a distinct fighting spirit.

One would think how different can one island destination be from another- actually VERY. Every island has a defined character that is unique to itself and when we think of Phi Islands- we think happy, cheerful, energetic, spirited, relaxed, fun, calm and stunning, yes it's all of these together makes Phi Phi special.

We had a wonderful time, met some lovely people and made some beautiful memories that will last us a lifetime. It was our first time to Phi Phi but I can undoubtedly say that we would go back in a heartbeat, it managed to seduce us enough to want us coming back for more. We ate delicious local cuisine, walked through the throngs of pretty lanes, lounged on the stunning beaches, swam in the fascinating lagoons, dived some interesting spots, climbed up the viewpoint to be rewarded to a splendid visual treat, danced till the wee hours of the morning and more.

Koh Phi Phi, we will most definitely come back for more!

An island away from the maddening crowd

Phi Phi is a cluster of beautiful islands in the Andaman Sea but the only inhabited Island is Koh Phi Phi Don. Thus the crowd seems to swell with day trippers from Phuket & Krabi. The mail part of Phi Phi Don can be pretty crowded during peak seasons of Nov to April..

If you are looking for a peaceful time, head for Long Beach which is just a 10 Min boat ride away. Long beach is a small island with only 3 - 4 resorts of which "Phi Phi The Beach resort" is the best in terms of ambience & star Category. The island has a small beach of approx. 700 - 800 meters of white powdery sand against the turquoise blue waters..

Phi Phi the beach resort has single villas overlooking the sea towards the famous Maya Bay. The villas are at different heights of the hill. The rooms are spacious with a private balcony. Wifi is strong but I guess that can be well avoided on this peaceful digitally unconnected holiday.

The breakfast is very good with good variety but the lunch and dinner lacks variety. The property has a wonderful sunrise spot with a bar (Monkey Bar) if you are ready to climb up the hill to the other side which would be approx. 500 mtrs but the climb is steep. There are battery operated buggies is required for the climb available round the clock free of cost.. The beach is pristine & lazing in the sunbeds is a great relaxer. The evening gets lively though with fire shows & beach bars serving cocktails & sea foods.

Good place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful holiday! But the wild beach parties are only 10-15 mins boat ride away.
