The parking is easy, as the place where it is located is not very crowded. The rooms are well maintained. There is no loud noises, though this is pretty much within the city and that is great. The staff is quite responsive. No issues on service. The food is available within short notice, which is good. The only issue is the vegetarian food. They could consider supplying the non-vegetarian food. However, non-vegetarian food is available outside and hence it is not an issue. The stairs is steep hence, it is difficult for aged people to go up the stairs. The hotel should indicate that it is vegetarian hotel. That will help folks like us to know in advance about this. Otherwise, the entire staff is good and it is a value for money. More » « Hide

Luckily, Delhi weather helped us - it was chilly, but not foggy. That helped us to reach DND flyway within 40 mins. After that Geater Noida e-way and Yamuna expressway was easy. Driving through the Yamuna expressway is fun - with wide road and smooth traffic. Unfortunately, there was not much to eat on the road. The refreshment rooms were overcrowded, specially the first one. We did not even try to stand in a queue. The second one, after Mathura toll plaza was less crowded. However, if we would have waited to buy food, we would have to wait at least half-hour. Certainly, it was not worth. We decided to proceed towards Agra. Once we are out of Yamuna Expressway and reached Agra, it was business as usual - poorly maintained, under-construction road with confusing ways. However, things got better, when we reached Gwalior road. The road was average as per Indian standard - though there was no single eating joint - suitable for families. The roads go through some of the Hindi heartlands - should not get surprised with gun welding people in motorbikes. One person had gun, garlanded with marigold flower - we were wondering whether this is a new gun or the person is back from gun-puja. We did not dare to ask, though. The road goes through some unusual landscapes - like the terrains of Chambal valley. We could not take any photo, as the there were trucks all along. We met multiple diversions in Dholpur - usual Indian highway with under-construction flyovers. After we reached Agra within 3 hours, we reached Gwalior within 2 hrs from there. During return, we were wondering whether to go for boat-ride in Chambal, just before Dholpur. We decided against it, but it can provide a refreshing break. Travellers in this road should not not expect any rest places after Agra and hence plan accordingly. More » « Hide

This is an excellent initiative by ASI. The museum is no way comparable with big museums. However, ASI utilized the palace in an excellent way, by displaying the items. All the items are tagged and helps the tourist. The aesthetics of the display is one of the best. I hope government can support such excellent initiatives, by providing power. Due to power-cut, some of the items were difficult to see, mainly those displayed inside. More » « Hide
