Myself and my wife went on MP tour beginning with Bandhavgarh on 28.02.2011 morning and fortunately and very quickly arranged a shared tiger safari with a British couple, Bruce and Carol Forbes and for the first time in my life we saw the real one, the wild and beautiful about 100 fee away taking dip in the pond and thereafter moving upward for taking rest for about 10 minutes. I could not believe that the tiger could be spotted after two hours of ride. I booked online my morning safari for Tala-1 on 1st March 2011. The Gypsy Driver, Tek Chand (09425344610) is middle aged having vast experience on the tiger trails and he knows to spot tiger. The jungle safari was for nearly four hours and we were about to end our safari around 0930 in the morning we came to know near Tridhara that a tiger has been spotted by the Forest officials and there were three elephants (Rs. 200/- per person for elephant ride) with mahouts helping us climb on the elephant back we had seen the beautiful animal moving and thereafter taking rest . Initially my wife did not want to go for a jungle safari. But, after seeing the real wild tiger hardly 30 feet away and unnerving roars made her so happy which I will never forget. Seeing a tiger so close will ever remain in my memory. Route from Kolkata: Howrah to Katni to Umaria by rail. Umaria to Tala by bus and get down at Kumkum lodge, cheap and tourist friendly specially Ram Milan Yadav (07627265324) and a new Manager Mr. Verma, very cordial.
