Ooty is a nice weekend gate-away from Bangalore. Surrounded by hills and mainly the tea gardens, Ooty is rightly termed the queen of hills in South India. The chaiya-chaiya narrow-gauge train ride to Coonoor, boating in Ooty lake are some of the experiences one should not miss. The climate is apt for a Hill station, not extreme like some of the Himalayan range hill stations and not warm also. On the way from Bangalore the road takes you through Bandipur/Mudumalai Forest. If you happen to cross Bandipur in the evening, there are chances of spotting Herd of Wild Elephants waiting to cross the road. If you are really lucky, the ever elusive tiger may wish to give you a sighting also.
