We spent in all 9 days in Himachal, 5 in Manali and 4 in Shimla. Our most surviving memories I..... We spent in all 9 days in Himachal, 5 in Manali and 4 in Shimla. Our most surviving memories I think will be the lo...ng road distances we had to cover travelling from Delhi to Manali (600 km), then Manali to Shimla and finally Shimla to Delhi. To add to this, we flew to and fro Delhi from Mumbai (where we live) although the journeys by flights seemed fine. Manali is good, Shmnla is barely okay, but the road journeys are a challenge. The key reason for choosing Manoribel as a weekend getaway is the proximity to Mumbai (actually, it is within Mumbai city limits). However, you are far removed from the concrete jungle that Mumbai is once you are on the Manori island and at the Manoribel resort. The food choice and quality was similar to most 4/5 star resorts we have stayed in, although the pricing was much more economical. This is a wonderfully designed resort with a great swimming pool, excellent coffee shop (overlooking the pool and the sea) and very nice rooms.
