Basically, a very confusing place with beautiful beaches and hills! A weird but perfect combo! It\'s like the place is designed to make you forget about the rest of the world, which is so metaphoric because the hills that cover the beaches totally hide the outside world from being seen. It\'s just the sea, the beach, cliffs, and you. Prime difference between the beaches of Gokarna and other beaches in India is the crowd. On a typical weekend, you would find tons of people at any beach in Goa or even Pondy. But the beaches of Gokarna aren\'t crowded that much. Plus, majority of the crowd there is of foreign travelers. They just mind their own business and I heard that you don\'t really see local travelers during the weekdays, something I need to personally check to believe. The beaches are beautiful and not very polluted. The people are friendly. And the crowd, if you count a few dozen people as crowd, is diverse and fun. I met people from 8 different countries at the place I stayed at! So, you get the point... I\'d say the place totally lives up to the expectations. Sort of makes me wanna give a high-five to all the hypes. More » |

So basically there is this hill, about 1200 above msl or so. You ride about 65 kilometres from Bangalore and you find nothing, absolutely nothing. Sure, the weather is fine. There are like a couple of mountains around and valleys in between of course. But they’re all rocky. I mean there is nothing but rock, and no greenery. Not even the slightest hint of it. So it’s all about the journey. More » |

Coorg, Karnataka Arshat, Bangalore, Posted Date: 28th June 2010 This non-commercialized hill resort in Karnataka is one of the best places to unwind your mind...... This non-commercialized hill resort in Karnataka is one of the best places to unwind your mind. With all the beauty of the Western Ghats, with the mixture of The Coffee plantations, The Spices, The Palm trees, The Beautiful people, The Magical weather, The Intriguing breeze which comes from nowhere and everywhere and The History, this place is pure and hollow. I'm from Ooty and I just felt like I saw the Old Ooty which was alive a decade ago. Pollution is the only thing missing in Coorg! Wherever we see, we see trees. Its green everywhere, its like God created one lush greeny velvet and spread it across the hills and made Coorg. It may be because I went during the monsoon and it was drizzling all the time with the wet breeze oozing and tousling the hair I felt like never leaving the place. Best of all, the place goes to bed at 10 in the evening. Go around on a walk at 9, ( not alone! stray dogs look more threatening there! ) and just let your mind wander and guide your feet. You'll feel your brain resting on your mind's arms! This is such a kind of place where you should go and do nothing! Just go and stay and revive every cell in your body even the Granule! More » |
