My family and me have visited Aalankrita on many occasions and each and every time the place has completely floored me. The magic starts off as soon as you enter the gates and feast your eyes on the greenery and the beautifully done up landscaping. Its a huge property with tastefully done up decor and the rustic theme has been carried throughout the place. You get a choice of restaurants and the food too is truly awesome. The kababs, especially are extremely succulent. The selection of liquor too at the restaurants is quite extensive. The staff is very friendly and really take care of you. The spa too is one of the best I have seen. The gaming arcade is an amazing place to indulge your family and de-stress yourself. Overall a truly amazing place whether you want to go with your family or friends, whether for the weekend or just for a meal. Thumbs up. More » « Hide

I went to coorg with my family for the very first time and was totally captivated. The best part of the trip was the stay at Maracad estate. The couple who run the place are absolutely amazing. In fact, in our short stay of 4 days, they became almost like family members. It was like home away from home... only much more beautiful. The Coorgi food cooked by Reshma is truly mind-blowing. This is one of the best places to escape the daily hustle and bustle of everyday life. The estate is located in one of the quiet locales of Coorg, about 15 kms from Virajpeta and abt 3.5 kms from a small village called Vontiangiri and is nowhere near the commercial cacophony of Madikeri (the dist headquarters). The Estate is basically a coffee plantation with many spices and flowers growing all over. We even tasted the coffee grown here which is quite good. One thing to keep in mind though is that your own transportation is compulsary as it is extremely difficult to find public transport. More » « Hide
