The staff are quite friendly and your needs are taken care off. The restaurant provides you with a good breakfast, before you start on your day\'s itinerary. It was a long drive to Nagapattinam District, a good 450 km from Bangalore and travelling with kids meant we need to take a break in between. The usual stop is Tiruchirapalli, but reports of terrible road conditions forced us to look for another road. And the route via Pondicherry was the best option. It was a sudden decision and I was reassured when I had no difficulty in getting my booking in place. Like all good hotels should do, they called 12 hours ahead of scheduled arrival to check if all was well. And when we did arrive, the check in process was done in a jiffy. Our family\'s take - if you are not particular about a beach resort (and our experiences of beaches in this region are not too great - please see my review of another resort in this town) this is a great place to go to. One reason to visit to Pondy surely is to visit the French Quarter and for this your a strategically located. More » « Hide

The lasting impression is one of a dull and morose place. I guess it has to do with the glum... .. The lasting impression is one of a dull and morose place. I guess it has to do with the glum faces that one sees all around. Honestly, the only person I saw smiling freely was the doorman at the entrance. Not once did I see the ladies at the front office smile. I don\'t think the room boys have heard the phrase \'service with a smile\'. Even at the restaurant the captain first points out what they don\'t have. He warns you that \'a la carte\' would take at least 20 minutes (even though it actually takes 10). I didn\'t use any business or leisure facilities - so I\'ve given them an average score. More » « Hide
