By seeing the internet pictures and reviews we went with lot of expectations to wayanad, really..... By seeing the internet pictures and reviews we went with lot of expectations to wayanad, really our experience is very bad. we started from chennai in mangalore mail, since begining it is very sad, till arakkonam every body is boarded the reserved compartment with right royal and occupied our place but with request. while we sleep in the train at around 6.30 am some body has pushed our legs and sat at our place, even though we are sleeping they dont bother, when we shouted at them they say this is kerela it is like this only, who asked you to come to kerela. It seems that even the TTR dont bothered, really a bad experience in the train. we reached calicut at around 9.30 am and boarded the our pre booked mini bus with expectations on the way we saw some good treas and place was really good. we reached our hotel at sulthan bathery at around 2 pm and went to a near by dam, it is a useless dam nothing there waste of time, then next day went to edakkal caves really a good place to see but not good for old ones since it is so steap, after that we are eager to see the falls called soochipara falls, we paid Rs 30 per head and walked around 2 kms more like hilly place and saw a tap like water falls, the place were so bad and dirty, some groups were taking bath and are not allowing others to take bath in the tap like waterfalls inspite of our compliant with the watchmans there, really a bad place, kindly avoid this water falls. Next day eagerly we went to muthanga forest (Wild Life Sanctuary) the stunt given by the forest department are we have to be there before 6 am to get the tokens and they will allow only at 7 am, accordingly we went at 6.15 am and waited to get the tokens though we are number 5 we got token number 9 (i dont know the jimiks of forest department) we eagerly waited and boarded the jeep with much expectations and at the enterance of the forest we saw one elephant (it is told that it is temple elephant taken for rent to show to the customers) and then we went in jeep into the deep forest to see, honey bees, ants, thumbi, butterflies, crow etc it is really a big forest, because we cant see these in the citiies or near by towns, these are so wild. after spending around Rs 150 each we saw these marveleous wild animals in this mathunga forest - if you love kerela government then please donate money to this forest department. after breakfast we went to kuruva island, about 50 m small streach of water to cross in small boat for which they charged Rs 50 per head, it is a bamboo jungle, with small streams of water flowing around this island, good place to enjoy in water, but not worth it. then we went to second largest dam in Asia, it is a good place to see, but distance from our hotel to this dam is around 40 kms. Please avoid going to Wayanad, worthless place. If you have enough money to donate to kerala government then go to wayanad. A bitter experience in this summer holidays. More » « Hide
