Located in the middle of Bay of Bengal, this place offers beautiful sea beaches (Jolly Buoy, Wandoor, Corbyn\'s Cove and Radhanagar), marine life sanctuaries (Jolly Buoy and North Bay), history of Indian Freedom Struggle (Cellular Jail and Viper Island), glimpse of colonial past (Ross Island and Chatham Saw Mill), museums on marine life and anthropological heritage of the islands, mini-zoo, parks, natural wonders like lime stone caves and mud volcano etc. A week long trip would be sufficient to enjoy all of these. Only the Somnath temple premises is neat and clean, rest of the city is very dirty, sea shore is..... Only the Somnath temple premises is neat and clean, rest of the city is very dirty, sea shore is filthy and in some parts of the town, you may start vomiting due to sickening smell of rotten fish. The hotel though located very near to Somnath Temple but surrounded by a slum like unclean and... .. The hotel though located very near to Somnath Temple but surrounded by a slum like unclean and dirty locality. We needed to contact the hotel for arranging a pickup auto-rickshaw service from the bus stand as none of the auto-rickshaw was agree to go to this hotel. Auto-rickshaw drivers of will offer their services if you agree to go to a hotel of their choice as they are surely to earn a commission out of it. If you have an advance booking, they will not listen to you. More » « Hide

Better go this place by train than road (if you don\'t have your own vehicle). Must visit..... Better go this place by train than road (if you don\'t have your own vehicle). Must visit Dwarkadheesh Temple, preferably with help of Pandit-jee (we had Pandit Minesh-jee as a guide). More » « Hide

Very near to Dwarkadheesh Temple, hotel staffs arranged for Pandit-jee for visiting the temple,... .. Very near to Dwarkadheesh Temple, hotel staffs arranged for Pandit-jee for visiting the temple, shops and food joints are nearby. Front desk is located on first floor as this hotel does not have an opening on the main road. To enter in this building, you need to go through a narrow passage cum parking place to a backdoor of the building leading to a staircase. More » « Hide
