I must have stayed at least fifteen times in the last few years in this hotel . If I come to Thirvananthapuram my first choice is Arya Nivas located almost at the centre of the sprawling city. It is a vegetarian hotel and that is a boon to vegetarians like me. The front office though occupying a small space, is very efficient.It will be easier if you book in advance. The rooms though not very large are well maintained. The view towards the road is exotic: one sees endless traffic vanishing into the distance. There is a tree with bats and sparrows and crows at the large window The bathroom/toilet-s are specially maintained well. The restaurants are reasonably maintained. The food has variations and possibility of experimentation for those interested.South North India Chinese. Of course it is relatively expensive and during the rush hour the restaurant is crowded. You may have to wait before you manage get a suitable seat. Room service is reasonable.There is no room service between ten thirty PM and six AM.
