The purpose of our visit (2 friends with our 3 children aged 9, 5 & 4 yrs) was to give a glimpse of the games that we used to play as children before the computers and TVs invaded our world. We also wanted to give the children access to wide open space which is not available in the city.
While there was definitely no TV in the resort, experience for the children was not so great. Yes, they did play with the old cycle tyre, bugiri and kite flying, but it was not exceptional.
Accommodation - The room was spacious & bright, but hotl. They call the rooms naturally cooled room, but it is like staying at home without a/c..not cooled naturally or otherwise.
Food - Breakfast was really sad....idlis that were hard as stone, another day was shavige uppit quite burnt. The 1st day the resort had only 7 slices of bread when they were clearly expecting guests that included 3 children. Lunch was decent, but they had clearly not catered to the needs of children visiting. Probably they are not used to having children in the resort. The food items had karela one day and the soup was hot & sour soup the other. After having north indian food varieties only for 2 meals, we had to ask for them to change to Chinese so that kids get to eat something. Dinner again was so-so.
The resort says that they do not use pesticides against insects / flies. the restaurant has so many houseflies sitting on your food that it is quite disgusting. Again, the food is all dumped on your table at once. So, don\'t expect to get hot food for any meal.
Facilities - Bullock cart ride & pottery were good. Staff assistance for kite flying, gilli-danda are less. They were prob. short of staff during our visit.
Swimming pool....Now this is something I am not sure about. The pool looks like it is completely taken over by algeae. The pool is extremely slippery and has a lot of floating matters. They tell us that it is \'naturally\' cleaned pond, I am unsure if I should buy this story. You should be extremely careful to get into the pool, the surface is really slippery.
It is quite clear that the resort charges 5-star rates at no expense to them. They have given a \'natural\' tag to cover this fact that it is run without any much costs to them.
