We visited Velankinni in Jan 2012 from Hyd and it was very good experience except for the long travel by train, bus and private van. We visited Velankinni first and then poondi madha and then chennai as it was totally a piligrimage tour. My son enjoyed a lot in beach and for him we visited velankinni imitated church in chennai also but the waves there are too high and we cannot put our feet in beach as every one was too afraid to get washed away. Coming to hotel exeperience rooms are good with AC and running water and beds are clean. Food is not provided but we have kitchens where one can cook their own delicacies. Here kitchens are given for rent on hourly basis and one cook deleicious fish items according to their home food taste and willnot miss home made food. The hotel is near to church and beach and shopping place and one can get good number of autos to go nearby places soon you come out of hotel. Overall we had very good experience except for the travel, wish we have any direct travel from Hyd or flight to avoid long journeys with children. More » « Hide

We went to Araku in December and selecting Jungle Bells to stay for 2 days. The pictures on net... .. We went to Araku in December and selecting Jungle Bells to stay for 2 days. The pictures on net are different from actual. The log huts are not good enough to protect from cold weather. We had no information what is happening outside, no TV, no mobile network, no transportation when required and food is horrible with couple of dishes to choose from. There is hardly any secuirty provided and one can hardly see any people around except reception and no hot water. Over all not good experience as expected More » « Hide
