One can reach Omkareswar Jyotirling by reaching Khandwa railway station on the Kolkata-Mumbai line and then to Omkareswar by road. The other way is to reach Indore rly station and then to Omkareswar by road. It takes hardly 3 hours by public transport from Khandwa and Indore as well. ACCOMODATION- There number of accomodation available and the price is not that much. I would recomend Gajanan Guest House where A/C double bed rooms are available for Rs.500/-. Good vegetarian meals are available at 30 rupees only. But try to have lunch at Omkareswar trust for 10 rupees only. For that you have to purchase the ticket by 10 am. Darshan- Special darshan costs 100 rupees but you can have free darshan as well. We had both. special darshan in the morning and free darshan in the evening. Evening Arati and Sayan Arati (closing of the temple) should be attended. Bathing in Narmada should be a must. Mamaleswar temple to be visited as well. More » |
