The sonar killa at jaisalmer ,made famous by the satyajit ray movie by the same name is majestic,regal,breath taking and appears to be made of gold!
But on going inside it, one feels sad,anguished and angry at the way things are.the fact that it is the only fort still inhabited by people could have been used to its advantage.instead, there is decay,disrepair and waste.
The hundreds of families living inside the fort with no sewage system in place have caused the whole fort to stink .
It is the right of the people living there to continue to do so but it is also the duty of the govt. and the residents to make sure the fort is well looked after.
There can\'t be another fort lie this one .we all have to do something to protect the fort with the help of the people living inside it.
One has to see the fort to believe the grandeur of the fort.
