This a small and peaceful hill station in Tamil Nadu, which has yet to experience the full commercialization that one gets to see in most of our hill-station. Its a nice and peaceful place and one should go there if one want's to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. More » « Hide

The resort is located on an 8 acre property and has small independent cottage type accomodation. The staff though not quite efficient, are very courteous and are willing to help. The owners too stay on the same premises and are and are quite friendly. Good Food and tranquil surroundings complement the very nature of Yelagiri Hills (One should go to this hill-station if one is happy with notion of an holiday where you do nothing but relax and get away the hustle-bustle of a city life) More » « Hide

Everything about the resort is commendable right from the concept (coexistance of a resort with an agricultural farm) to the location (the views are spectucular) the friendly staff. The fun starts the moment one gets on their army truck from the parking lot to the resort. The ride though bumpy gives you the feel that one is about to enter a different and more rugged world. The resort is set on a valley ledge with spectacular views of the mountains and the backwaters of the Emrald dam. The friendly staff will guid you through the activities slotted for the day which include fishing (and I actually caught some fish), horse-riding and visit to the dairy fam. Besides this one can stroll through their fruit and vegetable farms and see how these are cultivated. One can also undertake short and long treks. For the more adventurous there are options like rapelling, valley crossing and even an overnight stay at a log house. This place is great for kids who have grown up in the urban environment as they get to see and touch domestic animals like cows, sheep, horses and even rabbits. More » « Hide

We choose Nalapad Residency based on the positive comments posted by by fellow members and at the end of our stay, we left satisfied with our decision. The place has all the trappings of a decent budget hotel - nice clean and airy rooms, properly maintained washrooms, clean bed linen which is changed every day, prompt room service and above all courteous staff who will attend to you with a smile. They have a travel desk located in the lobby and the charges for car rentals were quite reasonable. For just Rs. 600 we had a car for haf day during which we would do all our sight seeing. If we choose to go by an auto-rickshaw, the well known tourist sites are at a short distance (Mysore Zoo-5km- Rs. 50, Palace-3Km-Rs.40, Urs Road-2Km-Rs.30 and Railway station-3km-Rs. 35) They have two restraurants, the inhouse \'Kadal\' for Non-Veg and \'Kamats\' for Veg (which is also frequented by patrons from all over Mysore). Both serve a decent fare. It is indeed a value for money stay. The only drawback, is that there are no shops accessible at a short walk from the hotel and after dusk, the place looks a bit desolate and does not look inviting enough for an evening walk. I would definetly reccomend this hotel to anyone who chooses the hotel as base for day trips rather than as a lesuire destination in itself. More » « Hide
