We chose Jet Airways as we like the seating and the service. Also its connect to Terminal T3 in Delhi is a plus. We stayed in Delhi for the day close to the Old Delhi Railway Station. The hotel though was not not worth the money paid, but the only plus was that it was about 500 m from the Railway Station and this meant that we did not need to leave early. We left the hotel the moment the train pulled into Delhi Station (as the Ranikhet Expresse waits for 45 min at Old Delhi Station). The overnight train reached Kathgoda at 05:00 hrs in the morning. We had pre-booked a cab and this ensured that we left within 15 min. We reached Ranikhet by 08:30 hrs. More » « Hide

Ranikhet is virtually off the tourist map, partially due to it being a military cantonment and largely due to the fact that there is nothing much to do here, except for going on long leisurely walks. If you are the person who loves to relax by going for long pleasant walk in the woods, then this is the place to be and i would recommend Queen's Meadow for three reasons as is in the main Sadar Bazaar, about 50 m from the Ranikhet Bus stand. Everything is nearby. The deluxe room has splendid views of the Himalayan range and Devanshu Gangola, the owner and hotel manager is a wonderful host and goes all out to make his guests comfortable. The rooms though not big are cozy enough for a couple+1 Child. The rooms are neat, the bathrooms clean and good clean linen. There is no restaurant and room service would include menu from the nearby hotel, but then there are enough restaurants within 200 meters radius for you to eat out (including the delicious Maggi Noodles cooked in the dhabas). All in all, I would recommend this for 1-2 days stay. More » « Hide

This a small and peaceful hill station in Tamil Nadu, which has yet to experience the full commercialization that one gets to see in most of our hill-station. Its a nice and peaceful place and one should go there if one want's to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. More » « Hide
