With over 100 rooms and the beach & Ganpati temple just a few steps away, MTDC's Beach Resort is your best bet in the quaint town of Ganpatipule. With approx 70 spacious rooms in the main section & 40 Konkani cottages approx 500m away, MTDC has a winner on hand. The 70 rooms in the main section of the resort are spacious and almost all are sea facing. Rooms have an attached balcony and amenities like TV, hot water and regular change of bath & bed linens (something that I had not expected). However, the rooms are ill-maintained with chipped paint & stained walls a common sight. Room service is limited to tea, coffee & milk. Tarang restaurant serves fairly decent food but is a tad pricey as compared to options available outside the resort. The Konkani huts are situated 500m away from the main section and are a bit smaller than the rooms. The huts are have direct access to a much more secluded part of the beach. Here the open air restaurant overlooks the beach and serves the same fare as Tarang. All-in-all, this is your best bet in Ganpatipule as all other major resorts are far away from the beach. Closeness to Paltan Bazaar and being in the Pan Bazaar are and added advantage. Ferry to Umananda Temple is about a km away. Tiny rooms and tinier bathrooms maybe a grouse with some. More » « Hide

The landscape changes with every step you take. You can take a 360degree turn and see more than 50 colours all around you. I saw a 6 colour mountain, a lake with 8 different shades, snow and sand dunes on the same day, etc. More » « Hide

Padma Guest House & Hotel\'s USP is that it\'s run by a local Ladakhi buddhist family and that it\'s situated in Leh. The house-keeping is miserable & the service in the restaurant is slow. But I think that\'s the way most places in Leh are. Padma\'s proximity to the market is another advantage cause then it gives you a lot of options of various cuisines. The hotel can be average cause you would forget it anyways mesmerised with the awesomeness Ladakh has to offer to you. More » « Hide
