Firstly this resort is not one constructed by Club Mahindra, but an existing hotel called \'Hotel Palace Heights\' (if i recall correctly) which was aquired by them. Hence the resort looks like a hotel block, its a single building with about 3 storeys. Its location is excellent, located on lower Dharamshala with one of the best views of the snow-claed Dauladhar ranges. Mind that half the rooms face the hills while the others face the boring road and countryside, so be sure to ask for a hill-facing room if available. We had gone at the start of summer, and there was still a good snow cover on the mountains. We luckily got a hill-facing room at the top floor where the room was breathtaking, just sitting on our beds we could see the mighty Dauladhar ranges glistening with their snow cover. The hills also seem very close.. so much that one would feel we can just run across the green fields separating the hills from the resort !
Our room was good, spacious and nicely done up and lived up to the Club Mahindra standards. It was equipped with a electric heater which we didnt need to use. We missed the air-conditioning during the afternoons, when it can get quite warm during the summer. They have recently installed AC in all the rooms, so this shouldnt be a problem going forward. Noise from adjacent rooms and offices was a bit of a botheration, mainly due to the hotel-like design of the resort.
The resort provides car on hire for various tour iteneraries, but we found the rates to be expensive. Fortunately we had the mobile no. of the taxi driver who had dropped us at the resort from the bus stand, and he offered better rates, so we used him for all the sight-seeing trips e.g. visits to the Kangra fort, Jwalamukhi temple, local monasteries etc
