I went to Polaycad Bungalow in the december. I had heard that the weather there is very cold in winters. But to my luck, the weather was overcast throughout the day (thanks to the rains in Chennai). We drove from Hasan, only to find how different these places were. The surroundings are so peaceful, you can listen to the minutest details around.
The bunglow is located at an amazingly location, and as I approached it, I almost pinched myself, coz it was hard to believe and imagine how wonderful my stay was going to be for the next 2 days.
The Cariappas are and awesome couple. Very warm and caring. It was almost like coming home to me, when I was asked about how my journey was. The bungalow is very beautiful and also a lot of work has gone into decorating the verandas. Got plenty of photographs hoping to copy that at my home :)
The view out of the room is splendid. The moment you step out of the room, there is a well maintained lawn and then its coffee plantations wherever you see.
The charges include bed and breakfast and the breakfast served is mouth watering. To have some authentic s. indian food like puttus (other than the usual idlis/dosas) food along with conventional toast butter is just out of my dreams.
Also the variety in the lunch and dinner was intersting too. Overall NO COMPLAINS about the food. The only thing is that the place is too much secluded from any of the tourist spots. There is a temple and Abbi falls nearby, but it takes up one day and then you dont have anything else to do. Otherwise if its a group of people who have decided to spend time away from the hustle & bustle, this is an ideal place.
