The Destination: Vishakapatnam is your regular tier two city kinda place. We went during the Xmas-New year season and all the places of interest were crowded. Most of the places in the tour guides are beaches. As i am from Chennai, this wasn't of special interest. The place is very polluted--i thought worse than Chennai. I liked its places of cultural interest though, viz., Simhachalam (supposedly most visited after Tirupati--Vishnu in His varaha(boar) avatar). I was told later that there are other famous temples.
The Location: the hotel seems to be in a very important part of the city. It is in a place called Dwarakanagar. All major brands of customer goods have showrooms here.
Appearance: square, drab, nothing special---i didn't expect much of a budget hotel.
Front Office: ladies there are not very informative or interactive; they talk to the point; dont give you suggestions on places of interest or things to buy. You have to do your homework. The office itself stinks of stale ciggy smoke.
Service: e.g., the curtain in my room had fallen. We called to fix it. No response till the end of our stay:(
Room: Old budget hotel room. Stains of old age were there everywhere. Curtains that were necessary coz of buildings next door were not fixed properly. Maintenace is just making your bed and cleaning the waste basket. They dont sweep the room. Walls are paper thin. Everybody can hear what you talk in your room
Food: very good food!! surprise, surprise!!
Activities: what?:P
