Grandeur is conveniently located, just off Ameerpet Main Road. The staffs are nice and friendly.... .. Grandeur is conveniently located, just off Ameerpet Main Road. The staffs are nice and friendly. Online booking facility is good and response time for email enquiry is quite fast. Roooms are reasonably big with basic amenities (although the refrigerator in my room 204 was not working). Power back-up facility is good athoguh the air conditioning does not run when power is off. Bathroom is more or less with basic items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, tooth brush, lotion etc. provided. The hotel has a wi-fi facility provided free of charge to boarders. Restaurant located on the ground floor is fairly large. Food is pallatable. Both veg and non-veg are available the buffet breakfast is a full-veg affair. Overall, the hotel is reasonably ideal for recommendation in the perice tag of INR.2000 on a CP basis. More » « Hide

Gulmarg, as a place is awesome. So, the quality of accomodation is secondary compared to the... .. Gulmarg, as a place is awesome. So, the quality of accomodation is secondary compared to the natural beauty. Yemberzal is situated near the main market place and the golf course. The car stand is also within stone throw distance. Rooms are fine compared to the tariff being charged. Bathrooms are attached and although small, are fitted with basic facilities. Room 106 (the one I stayed) has a good view of the golf course. The only objectionable item (common in Gulmarg) is an indegenous room heater attached to a LPG cylinder in the room. The aroma (if one can call it) of the gas and the apprehension of being a direct victim of a possible explosion will haunt you always. I had the courage to remove it and replace by an electric blanket. The hotel has a wi-fi connection for guests with hourly packages. The restaurant is reasonably large with a good view all around. Quality of food served is alright. Winter view is excellent. I has the snow till about 8 inches below the window from the ground. Be careful to descend the snow covered stairs as one small step can directly guide you towards an orthopaedic surgeon. More » « Hide

Pahalgam is a nice retreat and a notified area in the Anantnag district about 100 km from Srinagar at more than 7100 feet amsl. The best part is that the road from Srinagar to Pahalgam does not even have a single hairpin bend - quite common for hill staions in India. It is like cruising along a highway (in fact it is NH 1A).A comfortable 2-2.5 hours journey enroute Avantipur and cricket bat factories. Pahalgam is also the entry point for the \'Amarnath Yatra\'. Location of Hotel Highland is good. Just a couple of minutes walk from the car stand the another... .. Location of Hotel Highland is good. Just a couple of minutes walk from the car stand the another couple of minutes to the main market area. View from the rooms are fine. I stayed in a ground floor room (Room No. A1) with a good view. It has a small lawn outside. Rooms are reasonably large with bathrooms commensurate to the room size. The bathroom does not have individual geyser, though. Hot water is controlled centrally. It available during reasonable hours of the day (not night). One of the drawback is that it is strictly a vegeterian restaurant. The most common food available throughout the day is bread toast and coffee. Nevertheless, for no vegererian connoisseurs like me, the market place nearby has few non vegeterian joints. The hotel staffs are courteous enough to bring the food items to your room from the restaurants during evenigs. The restaurant is reasonbly large. Food items include alu paratha, bread toast, jam toast, tea, coffee for breakfast. The hotel accepts major debit/credit cards. It is advisable to carry adequate cash as the telephone lines are likely to be damaged during winter making the swiping machines non-functional. Pahalgam has 2 ATMS - the SBI one is near the hotel.
